Skittles Evening
On Friday 17th October 2008, 31 society members and friends entered into battle for the SAGS Skittles trophy! The ladies' event was won by Janet Bonar whilst the men's trophy was taken by Richard Cutler. The Ship Inn at Redbridge played host to the event which continues to be one of the most successful and enjoyable evenings of the year!
Bratwurst und Wein Abend
On Saturday 20th September 2008, 21 society members and friends came along for a friendly evening hosted in the Totton & Eling Tennis Centre's clubhouse. German wine, beer and Bratwurst were all served and a lovely evening was had by all.
Summer Barbeque
On Sunday 20th July 2008, around 60 society members and friends attended an excellent barbeque at Bowlers restaurant on Southampton municipal golf course. It was a wonderful day and thank you to all who attended!
Riverboat Shuffle
On Saturday 14th June, 57 members and friends joined aboard the Ocean Scene cruise around Southampton Water. There was music, food, drinks and even a stunning sunset to make the evening a great success!
Wine Tasting Evening
On Saturday 19th April 2008, SAGS held its annual "Weinprobe" (Wine Tasting) evening. 12 red wines from the Palatinate region in Germany were introduced by our host and society Chairman, Albert Lauritz-Rasmussen.
There were 33 attendees at the event including a number of student guests from Southampton University. As time passed, everybody became increasingly merry and a great time was had by all!
